Welcome to my virtual portfolio! I am a recent graduate from Northeastern University with a BA in Journalism, and I minored in international affairs and Middle East studies. I am a fast thinker who works best under deadline pressure. My insatiable curiosity for just about everything has led me to report stories in various corners of the world—vibrant rainforests, bustling cities, vast farmland, cluttered art studios and quaint religious institutions.
Growing up, I had an intense passion for storytelling. I stole vast amounts of printer paper from my family, punched three holes down the side of each page, and bound the pages of imaginary stories together with those twist-ties from bread bags. During severe storms, I handed my camcorder to my younger brother, who recorded me outside as I "reported" the weather. Eventually, I upgraded my storytelling methods. I was eager to explore the world beyond my hometown on Connecticut’s shoreline.
With an undeniable urge to break out of my hometown bubble, I spent my first semester of college at the University of Sydney, Australia, through Northeastern University's N.U.in program. When I returned to Boston, I continued my studies at Northeastern and registered for a course in 2019 where I spent 10 days reporting on-the-ground in Cuba in. That meant old-school journalism, though. Without access to the internet or cell service (imagine that), I managed to report on a Catholic nonprofit that was published by The GroundTruth Project, and a youth education program.
After returning from multiple trips abroad, including a one-month study program in Israel, I started my first co-op at Foundation Medicine, a cancer genomics research laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I improved my storytelling abilities by working on their internal newsletter and blog posts.
Over the course of my international reporting experience, I have written about organic farming and arts in Panama, a women’s march in Tel Aviv, tourism and migration in Puerto Rico and local politics in Massachusetts. I am currently a freelance reporter for The Harvard Press, where I interned in 2021. My experience with a community-based newspaper strengthened my appreciation for local news.
I am always looking for opportunities to grow and to find untold stories, whether that be domestically or internationally.
